Behind the Scenes - Grenade

"Today, I get to share with you the visual companion piece to my new single, 'Grenade.' The song is about loving someone so deeply, and the pain of knowing that the person you love does not feel the same. The actions in this video serve as a metaphor, and should not be taken literally. I am aware of the power of visual media, and I encourage everyone who watches this video to understand that it is an artistic interpretation of the song, and not something to imitate." -- Bruno Mars
This video was brought to you by Elektra Records.

The Lazy Song

Who is Bruno Mars?

Just a couple of years ago, Bruno Mars was not well known. Now, he is selling out arenas and is currently on an international tour. Bruno Mars is really Hawaiian native Peter Hernandez. 'Bruno' was a nickname given by his father because he was chubby like the famous wrestler Bruno Sammartino. 'Mars' came while in the studio because his name needed more 'pizzazz' and he is out of this world. Bruno is half-Filipino and half-Puerto Rican.

Two of the songs from Bruno's album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" are currently great hits and are constantly played on almost every radio station. "Grenade" and "Just the Way You Are" are both great hits written by the young star. If someone asks Bruno how he describes his music, his response would be "It's better if you don't understand; just listen and have a good time".

His EP "It's Better If You Don't Understand" features a popular song "The Other Side". One of the lyrics from this song ended up becoming the title of the album. "Somewhere in Brooklyn" was first featured on "It's Better If You Don't Understand" then added to his later album "Doo-Woops & Hooligans" as a bonus song.
